Our professional staff consists of patent attorneys registered and licensed both as European Patent Attorneys and Hungarian Patent Attorneys, and IP lawyers specialized in the field of protecting intellectual property.

Danubia is a full range intellectual property law firm with services covering both prosecution and enforcement of IP rights.

Within the framework of prosecution services we directly represent clients as European Patent Attorneys before the European Patent Office and as Hungarian Patent Attorneys before the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO), and we use highly skilled and well trained associates in all other countries. In the trademark and design fields we represent clients directly before the OHIM in obtaining and defending Community Trademarks (CTMs) and Registered Community Designs (RCDs) and before the HIPO in connection with Hungarian national rights and for Madrid Type International trademark applications. In other countries the aforementioned specialized associates co-operate with us to provide protection wherever the clients require us to do so.

Our full range of IP services cover: patents, trademarks, designs, utility models, semiconductor topographies, protection of appellations of origin, geographical indications and domain name related services.

On top of prosecution services we carry out IP searches to establish relevant prior art or earlier rights, or to prepare a freedom to operate opinions. Our fast IP documentation service helps clients obtaining pertinent IP documents.

The IP enforcement services are provided either directly by our patent attorneys or together with our co-operating law firm, Sar & Partners. These enforcement services mostly concern representing clients when their IP rights are threatened to be infringed, including obtaining preliminary reliefs, customs seizures or defending clients from being qualified as infringers. Normally, before a litigation starts, we provide pretrial opinions including the suggestion of a litigation strategy, and at a later phase we represent clients in the following litigation or ADR proceedings. Our trademark and design enforcement services include passing off cases and litigation cases where not only IP rights but also unfair competition torts are concerned.

Special service branches provide valuation of inventions and brands, professional assistance in drafting and negotiating know-how and license agreements, compensation agreements between employers and their employees. Mostly in the field of trademarks, we use own private investigators to establish unauthorized uses and provide market searches and inspections.

In contrast to the restrictions on practice in several other countries, our patent attorneys are fully authorized to litigate in IP matters before all Hungarian national tribunals, including first and second instance Courts.

Through our close cooperation with the law office of Sár & Partners, a leading law firm in IP enforcement, copyright and electronic communication right, legal services and complex strategic advice related to our clients' corporate and business law concerns can conveniently be provided.

Danubia is also offering complex consulting and managing services covering not only intellectual property protection but also IP project management and business development advisory services throughout the whole course of the innovation chain. To achieve this, Danubia has its daughter company Danubia IP Innovation Consulting Ltd., using a team of experts in technology transfer and innovation management.
